"Even if no one claps, I'll keep creating the life I want"

Jasleen Kaur, or Jazz as she prefers to be called, is nothing short of inspiring, motivating, selfless, and, most of all, an amazing person. Some people are born to applause; they are naturally hyped up by everyone for every little achievement, but for Jasleen, the applause never came, not until she met some friends who contributed to shaping who she is today. Her turning point was more like a quiet realisation that came over time. It started when she first picked up a camera or opened her laptop to code something, simply because she was curious. At the time, she didn’t realise these were life-changing choices. But looking back, she knows, those were the moments she was choosing herself. That choice to create without permission, to dream without validation, became her quiet revolution.

Growing up, Jasleen often felt the silent weight of expectations. Both her parents are top rankers with dual degrees, and naturally, they want the same from her. Ideally, she was supposed to be preparing for JEE. Still, she's balancing school, passion projects, entrance exams, boards, ai courses, research papers, articles, poetry, content creation, podcasts, music, learning multiple foreign languages and so on, all because she loves doing these and the silent pressure to prove that she could do something big even when no one was watching or cared. She had found something bigger than approval, freedom. “I realised I could make art, write, build, speak, dream, and just be free. That shift, from seeking validation to choosing self-expression? That rewired everything.”

If there’s one word that captures Jasleen’s vision, it’s belonging. She wants to create spaces where people feel safe being themselves, regardless of whether they are too loud, too quiet, too ambitious, or too different. Through Yumenoa (@yumenoa.waves), she uplifts underrated artists. She wanted to build things that made people feel a little more understood, a little more seen, and that's what she's doing. Whether it’s coding something that brings people together, sharing her voice through a podcast or editing videos that hold.

“No dream is too big,” she insists. “I want people to feel safe to be both soft and ambitious.” Her long-term dream is to lead the next wave of AI building, not a future where technology replaces humanity, but where it empowers it.

When inquired about the advice she would offer to other young girls, Jasleen addresses her younger self and says, “Embrace risks. Avoid overanalysing. Begin. Even if it’s chaotic, even if it’s tiny, even if no one notices. You don't require approval. "Your voice is important," She urges them not to downplay themselves, not to conceal their “weirdness,” and not to mistake kindness for weakness.

Her motto is straightforward yet impactful: “Even if no one claps, I'll keep creating the life i want.” That is the essence of her narrative. The applause might arrive someday, or it might not. However, Jasleen isn’t staying put. She is currently constructing, envisioning, and producing. And within her silent passion, through her unwavering faith in herself, she has granted countless other girls the affirmation they were unaware they required the affirmation to prioritise themselves.
